Educational Program Evaluation

Description

Schools and educational organizations run programs continuously and evaluate them inconsistently. The most common pattern is either no formal evaluation at all, or an evaluation process that collects the wrong data and interprets it in ways that confirm existing decisions rather than informing new ones. The result is programs that persist longer than they should, change for the wrong reasons, or get cut without a clear understanding of what they were actually producing.

You’ll work with:

• Evaluation design: defining what success looks like for a program before collecting any data about it
• Data collection methods: selecting approaches that generate meaningful information without creating significant additional workload
• Interpretation and reporting: reading results honestly, accounting for confounding factors, and presenting conclusions to stakeholders in a format that supports action

Outcome: A functional program evaluation process that produces honest, useful information about whether educational programs are achieving what they set out to achieve — and a clearer basis for decisions about what to continue, change, or stop.
